The Australia Network on IS5 next week is re-screening an interesting 45 minute documentary about satellite TV reception in Iran. It will be broadcast three times at the following Thai Times:

Monday, 19 April 2010 at midnight
Tuesday, 20 April 2010 at 09:30
Tuesday, 20 April 2010 at 19:00

If you are a satellite hobbyist and haven't viewed this programme before it is well worth seeing the extent Iranians will go to bypass the Government censors to view foreign TV.

Satellite TV is illegal in Iran but it is also the nation's secret obsession. An indulgence which has seeped into every pore of Iranian life. Satellite dishes are everywhere; illicitly crowding apartment rooftops, teetering on high-rise windowsills, even sheltering from dust storms behind remote nomadic tent villages. But ever careful to protect the populace from immoral outside influence, the Morality Police force entry into homes wielding wire cutters and sledgehammers; spoiling the fun.
